2008 will be our third annual "Show of Hands". This year we will be focusing on bringing the community together to raise awareness about the serious impact of domestic on everyone, not just the victims and their families. Our unity in this purpose will be symbolized by display of purple ribbons throughout the county of Lebanon during the month of October. We encourage you to ask your employer to purchase purple ribbons and to the "Show of Hands 2008" to show your commitment to ending the cycle of violence in Lebanon County. We hope you will join with us in a day of art, education, activities, free food and great music.

The event will again be held at Monument Park at 8th and Lehman in Lebanon, PA. This year, activities begin at 11 am and end at 2 pm. Lebanon's own Letters for Lovers will be playing live at noon, and we have recently added Sidekick to play at 11:15 am. There will short program at 1:15 pm about domestic violence and the damage it does to individuals and the community and we will thank those businesses and organizations that purchased purple ribbons to support awareness. At that time, former program participants will relay their experiences and successes as they continue progressing towards a violence-free future. Come join us to demonstrate your commitment to ending violence in the communities of Lebanon County and to celebrate the success of those who have gone on to escape the cycle of violence. And don't forget to display your purple ribbons all month!
We hope you'll be a part of this moving autumn afternoon in the park - there will be over 80 hands created by local schools and youth groups on display, free hot dogs, live music and activities and prizes for children. Every artist who contributed a hand and attends the event will receive a small token of our gratitude. Purple ribbons will also be available at the event!
